Finish Types/Definitions

The majority of our material is in a standard mill finish, but we are able to offer some others:

No.4 finish:
Commonly referred to a brushed finish, it is a linearly textured finish on 1 side or both sides of the sheet achieved by passing the material through a series of polishing belts. It is also referred to as satin finish.

Anodising quality:
Surface finish is no different from that of a standard mill finish, but the material has gone through a superior process in order to be able to anodise evenly.

Anodised:
This material has been through an electrolytic passivation process used to increase the thickness of the natural oxide layer on the surface of metal parts. The end result is a hard, natural or coloured oxide layer mainly for decorative purposes. However, it also adds corrosion resistance against pitting as well as wear resistance and electrical insulation.
